The Object Manager is the place where all Objects are created and managed. Objects are Users, Resources, Equipment, Rooms, Services, Extras, Groups and Object Classes. Here is also where you setup your Object Custom Fields.
Access and Overview
Access the Object Manager by clicking on the Object Manager tab in the Navigation Bar at the top. The Object Manager Navigation tab is visible to any Advanced User. However, the creation and modification of Objects can be limited through the Users' Permission Profile.
Search Fields
Upon accessing the Object Manager, a list of Objects is displayed in the main window on the left hand side.
The right-hand window displays Object Classes or Groups, depending on the selected display option under the Object Manager > Menu > Second Window Shows:
Type/Search Menu
- Type in the white search field to search for Objects within the selected Object Type (if any). You can also search for Activities and other keywords in fields that are setup in the Object Custom Fields.
* See also: Settings > Update Search Results When Typing. - Select a Type to display all Objects of the selected Type. Or select (All) and type in the search field to search for a specific Object.
Division
(Only available if licensed). Filter here Objects by Division. This also applies to the Object Classes in the second window
Object Manager Menu
Access the Object Manager menu by clicking on the menu icon placed on the top left corner of the Object Manager tab:

Dispatch Information
- Open Dispatch: Only available if EMT (Equipment Management and Tracking Module) is licensed. Only clickable in the Equpiment/Machines Type of the Manager. If there is a Dispatch available for the equipment, by clicking it will open up the Dispatch for this Object. If there is no Dispatch for this Object the option "Open Dispatch" is greyed out.
- Object History (former: Dispatch Status): Only available if EMT (Equipment Management and Tracking Module) is licensed. Please refer to the EMT Manual for further information.
- New Check In From Selected: Only available if EMT is licensed. Please refer to the EMT Manual for further information.
- New Check Out From Selected: Only available if EMT is licensed. Please refer to the EMT Manual for further information.
Columns until 7.0 SP3
- Toggle the Names On or Off to show/ hide columns from the display in the main window. The options below the grey line are Object Custom Fields that you can set up.
Edit View (from 7.1 onwards)
In the Edit View you can select to show or hide Standard Fields and Custom Fields. Custom Fields will show with the word: Custom before the name of the Custom Field. In the window which columns to show or to hide.
It is possible to Save View, Load Views and Remove views from the Object Manager Menu:
New fields from 7.1 onwards to show as a column that will only show if EMT is licensed:
Dispatch: Address, Check In, Check Out, Company, Contact, Date, Name, Number, Project Name, Project Number, Return Date, Location Change Date.
Location Change Date is the date that a User did a check in or a checkout of an Object.
Second Window Shows
Toggle to Object Classes (2 options see below) or Groups which will be displayed in the right-hand side window.
- Object Classes As A Tree:
Shows Classes in a Tree structure (expand/ collapse) with Parent Class and Child Classes. A Parent Class could be "Cameras" the Child Classes could be "EOS Camera"or "HD Cam".
Multiple Objects can be selected from the left window and by dragging and dropping on to a specific Object Class they will be added to that Object Class.
Double click the class to see its members in the left window.

Once in this view if you press right mouse click on any of the object classes on the right window you will get the following options:- New In: This option allows to create a new Object which will be directly added to the selected Object Class. Select an Object Class, right mouse click and New In: Select the category the Object should be added in and fill in the data.
- Edit Class: Will take you to the settings window of the class.
- New Class (In xxx): To create a Child Class, choose: New Class (In Parent Class xxx) Double click the class to see its members in the left window.Please note it won't be possible to drag and drop one or multiple Objects onto an ObjectClass so they become part of it when this option is chosen.
- Delete Class: Delete a Class.
- Object Classes As A List:
Classes are displayed in a table style view, sorted by Name.
Multiple Objects can be selected from the left window and by dragging and dropping on to an specific Object Class, they will be added to that Object Class.
Double click the class to see it's members in the left window.
*(hold cmd for multi select and shift to hold the selection).- Edit: Do a right mouse click to access the edit window for this Object Class
- New Class: Do a right mouse click to create a new Class.
- Remove: Select the Object Class to be deleted from the system, then right-mouse click and select Remove.
- Groups:
Shows a list of created Groups. Double click to show the members of a group in main window.
Select a Group, right mouse click to either "Edit" a group or "Remove" for deleting it.
Right mouse click to create a "New Group".
Settings
- Update Search Results When Typing: Upon tying a list of matching results will show up in the main window.
- Show Only Classes That Belong To Filtered Division: If the Division Module is licensed it will only show the Object Classes that belong the filtered Division.
- Hide Type Selector: Show/ Hide the Type selector at the top.
- Show Inactive: Show/ Hide Inactive Objects.
- Show Thumbnails: Show/ Hide the Thumbnails (if any have been uploaded). Will expand the line height to show the Thumbnail.
- Division Selectors Filters Dispatched Division Instead of Object Permission: If ticked, the column Division doesn't show the Object's Division but the current checked in Division that the Object was checked into.
- Check Circular Reference Errors: Only applicable if the EMT module is licensed. Active by default to avoid Circular References. Example: Adding an Object Class as Accessory within one of its members.
- Fetch Dispatches For Objects Report: Recommend to have this off. If this is enabled, in the Object Manager report you can show Dispatch information on each Object, however this can slow the system down.
- When Creating New Object Set "Inherit Rates And Activities From Object Class" To Yes: From version 7.1 onwards: If ticked, all new Objects have the setting auto-ticked to Inherit Rates And Activities From Object Class.
Maximum Hits When Searching
Limit down the search hits to avoid performance issues if e.g. 1000+ objects are setup in the database. To quickly release any search hit limit, press the yellow triangle bottom left corner of the Main window.
Compare With Global Rate Card
- Edit:
- Create a NEW Global Rate Card from here (right mouse click in the window).
- Edit an existing Rate Card; double click on the Rate Card row > the RC window will open.
- None: Choose to not display any RC columns in the Object Manager Table.
- Select a RC Name:
- Choose to display one Global Rate Card in the Object Manager table
- Easily Add Objects to the Rate Card but simple editing their Rates in the Table Column: xx Rate (RC)
- Easily Edit the Rates of Objects within the Rate Card, by clicking in the corresponding Cell and typing the new rate. Setup Custom Fields.
