I'm logged in at our server remotely but I can’t see the server window. I see the icon as a running app in the dock, but it won’t open. I’m using Microsoft Remote Desktop / Team Viewer... I thought the server wasn’t running, but when I try to launch it with Run as Administrator it says log.txt locked because it’s already running… Help!
That the fw Server app randomly wrongly launches outside the visible screen area, if hosted on Windows and when connecting via a Remote Session tool is unfortunately a known issue.
On most host machines on macOS or Windows this never happens and on some it randomly happens.
We have not been able to find a solution.
To resolve this issue:
- Do a “mouse over” the fw Server app icon in the bottom Windows taskbar.
- Wait for the pop-up Thumbnail window to show, where you can see the preview of the running fw Server app.
- Right mouse-click on the Thumbnail pop-up window and on the following men use "Move".
- Notice that your mouse pointer changed and it now has “up/down/left/right” cross-arrow shape.
- Now use the "Up" arrow key on your keyboard.
The fw Server app is now stuck to your mouse pointer. Move your mouse pointer to the center of the screen. - Now click once to release the fw Server app within the visible area of the screen.
