What programming language and database format are you using?

Modified on Wed, 8 Oct at 1:39 PM

We use our proprietary database format ("efdb"), developed by The Electronic Farm. It is not an open standard format like SQL or else.

The base Programming Language is TCL/TK.

TCL is in the 11 Top security level of different open source projects revised by Coverity which means that our developer language is one of the most secure ones, which is a good base to build a system. Find out more about TCL/TK here.

The TK part of TCL/TK is an object oriented type programming language. TCL itself is a script-based programming language similar to HTML.

The system also uses multiple so called "helper" SQL lite DB files:

fwdb.db3 (farmerswife data base.db3) contains Rate Cards and Invoice data.

histories.db3 contains the change history of Class Bookings and Media Entries.

despatches.db3 contains Despatch related data.

[play.db3 legacy db file]
