Logos and images can be added to your farmerswife Server, to add to your Reports, Invoices, and Quotes in the Print Designer. However, as you cannot currently adjust the size of the images within farmerswife, the size of the image(s) needs to be adjusted before they are added to the server.

Preparing your Images
COMPANY LOGO
The "Company Logo" is an element that is always listed on the Print Designer. If you would like your logo/image to be displayed when ticking this option, then your logo/image should be in the following format:
Approx Scale: 140-pixels x 140-pixels
File Type: GIF
Alpha Channel: works better without an Alpha Channel
ADDITIONAL & BACKGROUND IMAGES
Other logos or images can be added to your database, to be switched on in the Print Designer Header section; or be used as background images. These logos or images again cannot have their size altered within farmerswife, and so should be the correct size before being imported.
For reference, the default size for an A4 page in the Print Designer is 1680-pixels x 2375-pixels. To ensure your logos or images appear at the correct size, you should scale them against the default A4 size.
N.B. As a reference there are two PNG files attached to this article, at the size of the A4 page in the Print Designer, called:
- PrintDesignerLandscape-2375x1680pixels
- PrintDesignerPortrait-1680x2375pixels
For additional images, the suggested format would be:
Approx Scale: relative to A4 page of 1680-pixels x 2375-pixels
File Type: GIF / PNG
Alpha Channel: works better without an Alpha Channel
FULL-PAGE BACKGROUND IMAGES
You can also add images that can be used as full-page background images. As with the Additional Images, these will need to be the correct size before being added to the server. For these images, the suggested format would be:
Approx Scale: 1680-pixels x 2375-pixels (Portrait) / 2375-pixels x 1680-pixels (Landscape)
File Type: GIF / PNG
Alpha Channel: works better without an Alpha Channel
Adding your Images to your Server
Once you have prepared your images, please contact support@farmerswife.com, attaching your images. A member of the farmerswife Support Team will be able to add the new images to the server for you, ready for them to be available in your Print Designer after the next scheduled server restart.
Adding your Images and Logos to your Templates
COMPANY LOGO & ADDITIONAL IMAGES
Once your images have been added to your server by a member of the farmerswife Support Team, and your server has been restarted; log into farmerswife and go to any Print Designer (Project Reports, Invoice Creator, etc) where you want to show the image/logo. The newly added images will now be seen in the Header and/or Projects section, and the name of them will be the same as the file name given to the files that have been sent to farmerswife Support.
Simply select the image/ logo you want to use in the template (mark the checkbox next to it) and drag and drop the image by clicking on the yellow box on the image in the Preview area.
The COMPANY LOGO will always be available by default and therefore cannot be deleted nor renamed.
BACKGROUND IMAGES
To add a new background image, go into the SETUP of the template. Under PAGE BACKGROUNDS, click on the Plus symbol. From the drop-down, select the required image; then choose the mode (All Pages, All Pages Except the First, Only the First, Only the Last); and set up the position.
The position given is where the top left corner of the image sits, in relation to the top left corner of the page, with 0,0 being the top left corner of the page.
For a Full-Page Background Image, you will want to set the position to 0,0.
In the diagram above, the page is set to 1680-pixels x 2375-pixels, and the coordinates given in the image (1410 x 200) will place the image as shown in the print-out below.
All background images will be locked to the template and cannot be dragged around on the template preview like other images; they can only be altered in the SETUP by changing the numbers in the Position prompt window.
ALTERING THE POSITION OF A BACKGROUND IMAGE
To change the position of a background image, again go to the SETUP of the template. Under the PAGE BACKGROUND section, you will now have the name of the image next to the coordinates of where the image sits on the page.
To alter, click on the line of the image you would like to change. This will bring up the same prompt boxes as selecting an image for the first time. Step through these until you reach the Position prompt. At this point, enter your new coordinates, before selecting OK.
REMOVING A BACKGROUND IMAGE
Should you wish to remove the background image you have on the template, again go to the SETUP fo the template. Under the PAGE BACKGROUND box, click the line of the image you would like to remove. On the SELECT IMAGE prompt, select CANCEL. Now you will be presented with a new prompt Clear ?. At this point, select CONFIRM, and the background image will be removed.
MULTIPLE BACKGROUND IMAGES
When adding multiple background images, the highest listed image will be the lowest layer. Therefore if you have a full-page image and a logo to add; you should add the full-page image, before adding the logo that needs to sit over the background image.
