Overview

farmerswife offers multiple ways to manage files, depending on how files need to be used and accessed.


Files can be:

  • Stored in project folders for project-related work

  • Managed as media and clips in the Media Library

  • Attached directly to records using file-based Custom Fields


Key Components

Project Folders

Used to store all files related to a project in a dedicated folder structure.
Project folders can be opened directly from farmerswife.

File Management

Provides tools to upload, download, organise, and manage files and folders linked to projects.

Media Library

Used to catalogue media assets and related files for reuse and long-term storage.

Custom Fields (Files)

Allow files to be attached directly to records such as Projects, Media, Bookings, Objects or Contacts.


When to Use What

  • Use Project folders for production and delivery files

  • Use the Media Library for reusable or archived media

  • Use Custom Fields for documents that must stay attached to a specific record


Troubleshooting

If you encounter an error, check:

  • Whether your ports are configured correctly.
  • The "Open File Transfer" window opens from the app > Menu.
