There are two features in farmerswife that can be used to define what bookings will be visible to the Web Users in the Web Client, Mobile Web Client, iOS, Schedule changes email and Web Shared Reports. These features are:
- Static Time Frames (Web User Only)
- Web Visibility, see article for more in depth description.
With "Static Time Frames (Web User Only)" you can define time frames when Web Users can see Bookings, when they will be able to create Task/Request Bookings, and also the time periods when they can Time Report. This feature has an effect on the visibility of all projects.
With the Web Visibility feature you define visibility for the Web Users by Project.
From farmerswife version 6.6 SP1 it is possible to combine these features so Web Users can see bookings of specific projects even though the booking dates may be in other time periods than those defined by the Static Time Frames. This is enabled within the Web Visibility window with the setting "Show Outside Web User Viewable Statice Time Frame".
Settings
“Static Time Frames (Web User Only)” is set up in the Toolbox > Settings > Web Share Settings.
- Viewable: the time frame when bookings will be visible for all projects, anything outside of that time frame will be hidden from the web users.
- Bookable (Tasks / Requests): time frame when the Web User can book a Task or make a Request.
- Timereportable: the time frame when Web Users will be able to do their time reports.
Enforce the Static Time Frame in Web User permission profile, here link to article Web Profile Manager. If it Static Time Frames are not enforced to the permission profile all bookings are visible.
Web Visibility is enabled in the Toolbox > Settings > Server Setup > Use Web Visibility Settings For Project
Project Web Visibility settings are found in the Project window Eye menu.
The Project Web Visibility settings window is where you define what and when bookings of a specific project will be visible for the web users.
Example
Fred Feuerstein has been added to The Static Time Frames Viewable that is set to the full month of March. This means that he will only be able to see bookings scheduled in the month of March. However the planners want him to have access to the project bookings in April for the project Return to the Moon. The project Web Visibility has been set to time period 1 March to 30 April, and to make it possible for this to override the Enforce Static Time Frame the setting Show Outside Web User Viewable Static Time Frame has been enabled.
These are Fred's bookings in April. He is booked on three different projects.
In the web calendar time period April, Fred can only see the bookings of the project Return to the Moon.
