Shifts can be used for Personnel Rosters. They can only be applied to farmerswife Users and they cannot be added to a Resource.
Setup/Add Shift Types
In order to Add shifts to Users, you will first need to set up your different shifts in the Long Form > left-click the Personnel Tree icon > Shift Type Setup.
Add Shift Type: Allows you to add a new shift, giving it a name, a colour, and set the times of the shift.
Edit Shift Type: Allows you to alter the name, colour, or times of a Shift that has already been added.
Remove Shift Type: Allows you to remove a shift that has been previously added.
Booking Users on Shifts
In the Long Form, add the users to the Personnel Tree, that you would like to book on shifts. Once loaded, select the User or Users you would like to add shifts to, so that their lines are blue (you can multi-select users, by holding the CMD [on Mac] / CTRL [on Windows] key and clicking the various users. Then, select the days which you would like the shift(s) to be applied to so they are yellow.
You then have two options to select the shift to apply.
Left-clicking on the User's icon will bring up the Personnel Menu, and you can directly choose a shift.
Right-clicking on the User's icon will bring up the Booking Menu, and going to the Personnel sub-menu, will allow you choose a shift.
On both of these menus, you have an option to create an ad-hoc shift for that user, by selecting Shift: Custom. This will open up a Name & then time-selector window for the shift you are about to add.
Once applied, the shift can be seen in both the Hourline & Longform. Bookings can also be made over the top of shifts, without causing conflicts.
Removing Shifts
In the Long Form, identify the shift to remove, then click and drag to the trashcan.
In the Hourline, identify the shift, and click and Drag to the trashcan.
