How to Add or Remove a Public Holiday

Add or Remove Manually

1. On the Toolbox select the Settings tab.
   
2. In the bottom of the Toolbox click on the menu button and select Server Setup.
   
3. Scroll till you find the button Public Holiday and click on it (full Public Holiday lists exist for some countries. See further below).
   
   To Add:
4.  In the pop up Public Holiday select Add
   
5. In Calendar select the Date of the public holiday you are creating.
   
6. Add the name of the Public Holiday, and click OK.
   
   To Remove:
7. In the pop up Public Holiday select Remove
8. In the drop-down list, select the day you wish to remove, and click OK
   

Add or Remove Manually From The Timelines

To Add:

• Mark/select a day in Long Form or Hourline 
• Click the wheel icon > Time Range > Public Holiday select Add
  
• Add the name of the Public Holiday, and click OK.

To Remove:

• Mark/select a day in Long Form or Hourline 
• Click the wheel icon > Time Range > Public Holiday select Remove

Once you've added the Public Holiday mousing over the yellow Note icon on the date you've added, will show the name of the new Public Holiday. 

Public Holidays function is similar to Weekend Days in farmerswife. Therefore if Days In Lieu in the Personnel Management are used, any Bookings involving Users on a Public Holiday will add a Day In Lieu (regardless if booked 1 Hour or the full day). Please refer to the Personnel Management chapter for further details. 

Load A Predefined Public Holiday List

farmerswife comes with some pre-defined Public Holiday lists, that can be imported with the Public Holiday Importer.

The countries that have pre-defined are:

• Australia
• Belgium
• Denmark
• Germany
• Sweden
• The Netherlands
• United Kingdom
• United States

With the release of version 7.1, these calendars have been updated to include dates up until 2035, to match the Hourline Calendar within farmerswife.  There are now also Public Holiday lists for:

• Canada
• New Zealand
• Norway
• Singapore
• Scotland
• Spain

Where there are two notable holidays on the same day, only one will be present in the Public Holiday Lists.  Should you wish to update or change this, then please see above on how to add or remove the Public Holidays once the list has been imported.

To import a list for one of the countries above, open the Toolbox and go to the Settings tab.  Navigate to the Server Setup settings, and locate the button Public Holiday.

From here, click on the menu icon next to Public Holidays and select the country you wish to import the list for.  You will be presented with a window showing the full list of holidays that are being imported, and once you click OK, the list will be imported into your calendar.

You can also view the full list of your added Public Holiday by clicking on View Full List.

If you wish to clear all holidays set up in your farmerswife calendar, then from the same menu select Clear All Public Holidays From The System.  You may wish to do this prior to importing a new list of holidays.
