Divisions is a separate licensed add-on (contact sales@farmerswife.com for pricing) for companies with different business divisions or departments wishing to pool their resources but keep the objects, projects and invoicing separate.
By default the database only contains one Division, but if additional Divisions are added, it is possible to configure which Division each User / Object / Resource / Project / Media Order / Invoice belongs to and
to filter by Division in these places.
It allows to create one project and assigning resources from different divisions to it. When invoicing the project a choice can be made to issue one client invoice from the project division, and then the divisions invoicing each other internally, or else to issue separate client invoices for each division involved in the project.
Further usage of the Divisions in the system if licensed:
The Divisions option is integrated into the Multiple Currencies option, allowing you to setup a Currency per Division and then the currency will be auto selected on creating projects or invoices.
2. Bookings
Booking Timezones: Using the Divisions option you can also define and link Timezones to them in which Bookings are created or shown.
Shifts - assign Shifts to Divisions. Read more.
3. Permissions
Object Permissions: Configure Object Permissions by Division (v7.1)
Advanced User Permission Profile configuration, including Divisions in settings:
- User Can Only View Projects From Own Division (from 7.1) - with this setting enabled user is not able to see (and as a result - not able to book) any projects from other divisions. This is supported across the entire system.
- User Can Only Book Shifts from Own Division - If enabled, users will not be able to book all shifts, but only those assigned to their Division. This is particularly useful when different departments operate on separate shift schedules, ensuring that users only interact with the shifts relevant to their division.
- Force Select Involved Objects to Own Division (from 7.2) - If enabled, Users will only see Objects from Own Division when adding Objects via Booking Window > Involved Tab.
4. View Settings
In the Toolbox > Settings > Miscellaneous User can default to own Division by enabling "Default To My Division In Object Manager, Toolbox Objects and Classes. As a result User will see objects from own Division rather than all Objects.
Users can view/change booked Division in the Edit Project window
6. Reporting
