farmerswife can be configured to allow users to authenticate via SSO (Single Sign-On) using your existing Enterprise Identity provider (IdP).
This guide is designed to cover the technical set up of the integration on the IDP and farmerswife side, and also explain the user experience.
When SSO is configured:
- When one of these SSO methods is enabled, Desktop, Web and iOS users will see an additional SSO login button on the farmerswife login screens.
Users can log in to farmerswife without needing to enter a separate username and password. - On clicking the SSO button, they will be redirected to the Identity Provider to complete the authentication process (including MFA if configured), and then redirected back to farmerswife on success or failure.
- Enhanced and robust security measures such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and session control can be enforced.
Currently Supported Integrations (as of farmerswife v7.2)
- OKTA (OIDC)
- Entra ID (previously known as Azure AD) (OIDC)
- Other Identity Providers that support standard OpenID Connect protocols (such as OneLogin) may be compatible.
If you’re interested in integrating with a different provider, please contact support@farmerswife.com for assistance.
Note: SSO supports authentication only, not user provisioning or authorisation.
farmerswife does support syncing of users from Entra ID, but this is a separate integration covered in a different article.
All farmerswife users must have been pre-created in farmerswife before they can authenticate using the IdP method.
Please see individual setup articles for details and contact our support team if your server is cloud hosted.
