Why use Invoice Custom fields?
1. If they are synced from Projects, the values you enter in the Project Custom Fields will be copied over to the identical fields when creating the Invoice.
2. Invoice Custom fields allow you to save and track additional information apart from standard fields and you can search by these values in the Invoice Manager.
How to setup Invoice Custom Fields
Invoice Custom Fields are created on the Server > Financial Tab > Invoice Customs.
Sync fields with Project Customs
Custom Fields from Projects can be added to the Invoice as well.
Create exactly the same fields at Invoice level, and from the drop-down menu select Sync With Project Customs so the matching values from the Project Custom Fields will be imported into the Invoice Custom Fields. Upon creating an Invoice, matching Custom Fields will populate the information entered at Project level.
Note: When using Selector Custom Fields it's important to copy over the same Values to the invoice Custom Field as well in order to be able to search by the selector values from a dropdown field in the Invoice Manager.
See below example where the Invoice Custom was created as Entry field so there's no dropdown in the Invoice Manager to filter by the values.
