Note: Version 7.0 brings back the direct Print option!
If you want to print to PDF in version 7.0 press the "Save As PDF" button.
Or, use the "Print" button, to directly print to a locally installed Printer.
NOTE: On Windows a Bug has snuck in on 7.0 SP2 which prevents from printing to printers shared from other Windows computers on the network.
This bug is fixed, and will be available with the upcoming 7.0S P4.
This functionality has been updated from version 6.6 SP1 with regards to where the PDF is saved, so if you are on 6.6 SP1 or later please refer to the article Print and save to PDF
With v6.6 and the new fw Client-side 64bit support on Windows and Mac, we also had to implement the new “Built-In-PDF-Printer” functionality. When you now want to print Reports, Financial Reports, or Labels you’ll see a new “Print To PDF…” button.
There is a new setting that allows you to choose where to save your PDF reports (necessary to avoid user write permission problems).
“In fw Client > Toolbox > Settings > Miscellaneous > “Ask For PDF File Path Where The Printout Will Be Saved” is selected by default. With this setting activated, when you click on “Print to PDF”, farmerswife will ask you where you want to save the file.
If you do not select another location, the file will try to save to your farmerswife app location.
- On Windows - “/AppData/Roaming/Farmers WIFE”
- On Mac “/Library/Application Support/Farmers WIFE” folder path.”
With the setting disabled, when you click on “Print to PDF” your default PDF viewer will open directly.
From this PDF viewer, you can select to Save the PDF.
Your PDF viewer will default to save the file to the last chosen location.
